Desde hace días que quería ver algo terrorífico, si es película mejor, pero hasta el momento no he dado con nada bueno, al menos no con films sino con series de alto calibre que vale la pena recomendarles. Sweetpea es una de ellas.

I've been wanting to watch something scary for days now, preferably a movie, but so far I haven't found anything good, at least not films, but high-caliber series worth recommending. Sweetpea is one of them.
Esta serie cuenta la historia de una chica que tuvo una infancia dura. El bullying por parte de otros compañeros de clase por varios años la hizo ser callada y aguantar muchos abusos de otras personas. Ya de adulta, en algún momento era de esperarse que tomara cartas en el asunto para darse a respetar.
This series tells the story of a girl who had a difficult childhood. Years of bullying from classmates forced her to remain silent and endure abuse. As an adult, it was inevitable that she would eventually take matters into her own hands to demand respect.
La trama guarda muchas ironías de la vida y el karma juega un papel fundamental en la historia. Esto fue lo que más me gustó de la serie. Cuenta con un total de 6 episodios, de 50 minutos cada uno, totalmente disfrutables y con una intriga que te cautiva desde que inicia hasta que termina.
The plot is full of life's ironies, and karma plays a fundamental role in the story. This is what I liked most about the series. It has a total of six 50-minute episodes, all thoroughly enjoyable and with a captivating intrigue from beginning to end.
Pero así como avanza espectacularmente para nuestra protagonista, el primer episodio resulta ser bastante fuerte, ya que la vida pareciera que la tuviera agarrada contra ella. Yo estuve largo tiempo sintiéndome de este modo, ya que me salía todo mal en cada cosa que me proponía hacer. Así que de cierta manera, en algún punto logras "simpatizar" con la protagonista.
But while the story progresses spectacularly for our protagonist, the first episode is quite intense, as life seems to have her in its grip. I felt this way for a long time, since everything I tried to do went wrong. So, in a way, at some point, you do manage to "sympathize" with the protagonist.
Como toda buena historia, todo héroe tiene un antagonista y, en este caso, está representado por una mujer policía que tiene básicamente las mismas intenciones que esta chica de ojos grandes a la que el mundo dejó de ver por largo tiempo y que ahora exige su lugar en el espacio donde se desenvuelve.
Like every good story, every hero has an antagonist, and in this case, it's represented by a policewoman who has basically the same intentions as this big-eyed girl whom the world stopped seeing for a long time and who now demands her place in the space where she operates.
Esta serie es un claro reflejo de lo que la vida te puede obligar a hacer cuando no te queda de otra o, en el caso de Rhiannon (la protagonista), la vida te presiona tanto que para contrarrestar sus golpes sólo explotas, emocionalmente hablando.
This series is a clear reflection of what life can force you to do when you have no other choice, or, in the case of Rhiannon (the protagonist), life pressures you so much that to counteract its blows, you only explode, emotionally speaking.
Otro aspecto que te demuestra esta serie es que con un pequeño gran cambio de actitud puedes alcanzar todo lo que te propones. Pero en el caso de Rhiannon, tocó tanto el fondo que si no fuera por poner límites a los demás y exigir ser escuchada, la gente a su alrededor no haría nada al respecto para tomarla en cuenta. Este detalle me resultó un poco cruel por parte del escritor de la serie.
Another aspect this series demonstrates is that with a small but significant change in attitude, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. But in Rhiannon's case, she hit rock bottom so hard that if she hadn't set boundaries with others and demanded to be heard, the people around her wouldn't have done anything to take her seriously. I found this detail a bit cruel on the part of the series's writer.
En cuanto al guión y la estructura de la historia, estuvo muy bien hecha. Hubo misterios y en muchas ocasiones la protagonista me dio la impresión de ser volátil e impredesible. Este detalle me gustó mucho y le agrega un toque extra a la historia.
As for the script and story structure, it was very well done. There were mysteries, and on many occasions, the protagonist gave me the impression of being volatile and unpredictable. I really liked this detail, and it adds an extra touch to the story.
A veces ver historias de personas cuya vida está peor que la tuya te hace reflexionar un poco, te incentiva a intentarlo de nuevo y buscar maneras de sentirte mejor. Sin embargo, a veces tener sólo buena voluntad no es suficiente.
Sometimes seeing stories of people whose lives are worse than yours makes you reflect, encourages you to try again, and helps you find ways to feel better. However, sometimes good intentions alone aren't enough.
En el caso de esta chica de ojos grandes, me hizo sentir compasión por lo que le tocó vivir, empatía por sentir tanta soledad, respeto por cómo tomó el control de su vida y miedo por ver en lo que se convirtió.
Se espera una segunda temporada para este año, pero aún no han confirmado la fecha. Así que espero saber pronto más de la vida de esta asesina serial. De mi parte la recomiendo y le doy 4 estrellas.
In the case of this big-eyed girl, I felt compassion for what she went through, empathy for her immense loneliness, respect for how she took control of her life, and fear for what she became.
A second season is expected this year, but the date hasn't been confirmed yet. So I hope to learn more about this serial killer's life soon. I recommend it and give it 4 stars.
