It's strange when the word "excessive" is applied to seasons, in terms of weather.
In theory, this is all natural: there are heavy rains in spring and autumn, but some might consider them excessive.

Sometimes, after several years of warm, snow-free winters, a sudden heavy snowfall occurs, and then this hyperbolic word comes to mind.

Trends in recent years have often mentioned excessively hot summers, but here you have to decide: either the pleasure of cold drinks and ice cream, or the chilly coolness when you could be sunbathing on the beach.
