You ever do something just a little extra and realize it’s the best damn decision of the day? Welcome to my August 2025 Hive Power Up Day, where I powered up 101 HIVE instead of 100 — not because I’m trying to flex, but because 100 felt like brushing your teeth without flossing. Technically fine, but are you even trying?
And let’s be real: I might have a sprinkle of undiagnosed OCD... or maybe I’m just that guy who needs the volume on 11 instead of 10. Either way, 101 HIVE is locked, loaded, and ready to WORK.
So WT* Is Hive Power Up Day (HPUD)?
For all the newbies, lurkers, and "I’ll do it next month" folks—listen up. Hive Power Up Day (or HPUD if you’re into acronyms and sounding like you're hacking The Matrix) is a community event held on the 1st of every month, where Hive users power-up HIVE tokens into Hive Power (HP).
Think of it as going from gym newbie to protein-shaker-carrying beast. Hive Power gives you more influence, curation rewards, and voting power on the blockchain. TL;DR? The more HP you have, the more you matter.
Oh, and yeah—you get a badge. And if you're a badge collector like me (and let's face it, if you're in crypto, you're probably dopamine-addicted to checkboxes and pixel trophies), you'll want all 12 this year.
Here’s what a full badge streak looks like: 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🟥⬜⬜⬜⬜ (August just unlocked, baby. September is peeking like, “You gonna show up or nah?”)
But Why Power Up?
Oh, I don’t know. Maybe because it literally earns you money?
Here’s how:
Curation Rewards: You vote, you earn. Like being an Instagram influencer, but your opinion actually has value.
Governance Power: You get to vote on proposals and witnesses (have you voted for my witness already? @botlord -> https://ecency.com/witnesses. Translation: You’re not just on the ride—you help steer the damn ship.

Why 101 HIVE?
Why not a nice round 100? Because I’m not here to be “nice and round.” I’m here to go one louder, Spinal Tap style. Every Power Up Day, I want to remind myself: don’t do the minimum. Do the damn thing.
And look, if you’re reading this and powered up 10.001 HIVE just to squeak in for the badge—you’re still a hero. HPUD isn’t about the size of your stake, it’s about the commitment to grow, to contribute, and to play the long game.
TL;DR: Don’t Sleep on HPUD
It’s monthly.
It’s easy.
It builds your influence.
It makes you money.
And you get a badge for your trouble.
