Talking & showing my collection of Eisenhower 40% Silver Coins! 1971,1972,1973,1974,1976 years (all made with silver).

I end up talking & comparing what was the worst moment, 1933 when Gold coins were taken from US currency, 1964 when Silver coins were taken out and reduced to base metals or silver reduced for bigger amounts (temporary until totally removed shortly after) and last 1971 when Nixon closed the gold window for trade. Honestly I think Nixon gets 99% of the blame and LBJ & FDR deserve much more for literally taking Gold & Silver out of our own money! I believe Nixon did only what any president would have to avoid all our gold being sent out. Yes I am kinda defending Nixon 😂
But mostly I show off the Silver Dollars!

Eisenhower Silver Dollars Collection Vlog

I basically said everything in the vlog so that’s it. Cheers! 🪙

I just think that he didn't want to do anything about it. Its kind of crazy, but they have quite a bit of power. If he did at the start of the term, I wouldn't be surprised if he would have been assassinated.

By 1971 there was nothing to be done. But the powers that be should have been honest with the people and explained the truth. Instead just more lies indeed!

I checked my Ike dollars, three of them, unfortunately none of them are of the silver variety. 2014 was when I started Stacking. I remember my first buy was 4 silver Maple Leafs.
The Kennedy halves from 1965 to 1970 are 40% silver, I got a handful of these.
"Protecting the Dollar from the speculators"? the French wanted their gold back.
Nixon had the opportunity to redeem himself but didn't.

True indeed! I just think outta the 3 situations, 1971 was likely already passed the point of no return and 1933 & 1964 the literally removing if Gold & Silver outta the currency gets overshadowed by the window closing in 1971. It was already to point the rest of the Gold would be gone if they hadn’t closed window. In 18 months. I don’t think Nixon was special in that regard any of the prior presidents would have to of done same. Doesn’t make it right, just think 1933 was a bigger sin.

Didn't Franklin Roosevelt had some serious second thoughts/regrets after that? But he made his bed... I would agree he'd get the goat horns of the century.
!BEER

I never heard that, maybe but he died in office so there wasn’t any post office writings from him. I’d guess it’s a myth.
