RE: Monero Is Quietly Exploding While the Rest of Crypto Stalls

like cwow today, a lot of people don't know the ins and outs of posh and when they learned they get alarmed, not the first time I've seen happen since I figured out.

I think that if you don't know what to do with it, better burn it. Misusing it is worse then burning.

Sort:

You clearly egged him on with how you presented it in discord lol

anyway your opinion has been noted like usual, if I did everything based on everyone's opinions I wouldn't be doing anything on here. People have opinions about you as well but I try not to take them too serious either. Have a good day.

Let’s say I’m the devil’s advocate. I presented how I see it. It’s my opinion about it and everyone in that discord can have their own opinions. They can or cannot agree with me.
I know we all have opinions about everyone 😅. I’m definitely far from perfect, I have my own problems, maybe too many. Can’t please everyone.

if you have any ideas on how we can improve curation of posh other than "none of it is worth anything", I'm all ears. I take into consideration what many say, for instance some of the top sharers disagree with voting up image link shares at all but I think it's kind of rude to not reward some people anything at all. I have however switched to only voting some shares with this account as even ocdb's 1% votes may be a bit too large there in terms of hive rewards. Maybe not $ rewards but let's hope this dip is temporary.

Here my suggestions then.

First of all (promise this is last time I say this), not use the reward pool and make a DHF proposal. Since I arrived on Hive there were always a lot of restrictions on how the reward pool should be used, the main thing is self-voting. It's about ethics and not about the project itself, one person can't make this decision alone, you can't centralize it in yourself. If someone wants to do something similar, and also claims that will benefit the ecosystem and not profit from it, I believe that if it's not someone with a lot of stake behind, I doubt it would be allowed. You can only do it because it's you, and the stake behind you. (rule by force)

Now about the project itself.
You need more tools to provide you with real metrics. Rewarding the shares should be based on the views we got on Hive, not reddit. This will already solve your problem with image posts. This is a very good example, image posts don't get any views (zero!!!), because reddit puts a preview of all images in the reddit post and users don't have to click the link to view the photos. It's not rude to not pay anything to something that had no results. Like I said, I see lots (seriously) of posts with less then 5 views on Hive getting paid 20+ Hive. I rather you pay nothing to these ones, and pay more to the ones that get 200+ views.

You need to create criteria and post (make it public) of how you are paying the shares. It should be based on how many views the post got on Hive. It can't be subjective, you can't just decide yourself how much, it needs to be fair for everyone. You need a good tool to track the views. Users sharing it on reddit need an incentive to be creative to make viewers click the link, right now it's too easy just to share and not care if viewers will click or not.

Now it doesn't matter if you bring millions of views to Hive, if you don't take advantage of it, it's worthless. Bringing the views is only half the job, you got to make it worth something to the ecosystem. I like the idea of having a frontend for posh, where together with the posts, there is a banner, or something else that makes the visitor curious to know what Hive is. There's got to be some kind of introduction to Hive.

I think these are the main things that come to my mind right now. I'm sure I will have more ideas and will be happy to share with you.
