Will we live for more than 500 years?

I was browsing the internet and came across a news item that I don't know if I'd call positive, but it's certainly mind-blowing. According to Ray Kurzweil, an influential Google engineer, if we're alive and healthy in five years, we could live to be 500 years old. I honestly can't imagine myself that old. Although, thinking about it, if we're able to live to 500, then 100 will surely be the new 20. That would make me feel like a baby now.

Ray's theory is based on something called "longevity escape velocity," which sounds strange, but it simply means that technology will rejuvenate us faster than we age naturally. If we take it literally, we'd be more than just living 500 years; we'd be immortal. This sounds good, but like everything in life, it has two sides. Will we live in good health (eternal youth)? If we don't die, will we continue to have offspring? And if that's the case, how long will it take before we outgrow the Earth? Will we then colonize space?
I could spend all day asking myself questions like these. What do you think? Will we live forever?
