The YOLO mentality questioned

It's time to question the YOLO mentality. YOLO, short for "We Only Live Once". I understand what whoever made this quote was trying to say but technically it's the opposite.

We only die once. We live every day.

I was thinking about that earlier today waiting for my Uber to arrive, just standing there doing nothing special. Some people believe in the idea that living is a one time event. That you've got to jump out of planes, quit your job or do something really outrageous to prove you are alive. That simply ain't what it is.

I would say and this is subjective though but living is washing dishes, living is arguing with your sister about which channel to watch on TV or used to be until T.V became almost irrelevant unless it's watching Netflix on a big screen. Living is sitting in traffic and the lady in the other car is blasting music and singing away not knowing you see her.

Death is one time only. Once it's gone, it's gone, done. Life happens over and over. Wake, eat, walk, talk, sleep, wake, do it again.

Some days are dull, you barely do anything. Everybody goes about their business. Everybody is still there, that's living also.

I don't understand why we make it so complicated? Like living somehow must be a huge accomplishment.

When my grandma was sweeping the yard, I try to give her a helping hand but she said I'll be late for what I'm going to do and that's when I chose to order the uber. But she did the sweeping the same way, with that same old broom, every single morning, for years. Was she living? Yes, she was living every morning.

We will only die one time. We will live a thousand mornings, if you don't die before a thousand.

So based on my perspective, this ain't true
