Today, I went on my first fun run!

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday from here! I hope everyone is doing well? feeling all rested and all? It should still be valentine's day for some of you and I hope you're having a great day! I had a pretty nice day too! Started my day a little too early tho, but all for the sake of my activity for the day!

Today we joined our first fun run ^^ I know I've mentioned before that I usually run I the afternoon after work but to actually have to compete with people was a whole different thing entirely OwO it was fun and exciting and you get to see so many different people of different ages just going at it the best that they can and it's very different from my chill no pressure afternoon runs. This one was actually pretty motivating.

But before all that excitement and adrenaline, we had to actually wake up and leave the house at an ungodly 3am because the event place was a bit far from the house. I think we left the house around 3:45 am then since we had to argue over food so early in the moring, me and my sisters got to the venue around 4:30 then we discussed food options there.

It was still pretty dark when we got there but there was already soooo many people and honestly you could already feel the excitement just being surrounded by people who rangefrom pros to those like us who gave this a try for the first time.

Unfortunately the only food option we had there were salad sandwiches. I was hoping for something more substantial but the salad sandwiches were good too ^^ It's good that none of us ate a lot so that was actually a god start to the morning. Something light so that it wouldn't make running hard.

at around 6am, all the runners for the 3km category was gathered and were paraded before the gunshot fired and the race started! I think my entire run time was just 18 minutes for the 3kms, pretty good pacing of around 4-5kmph since I had a hard time adjusting to the people around me. I actually felt pretty bad for going on ahead and leaving my sisters behind but I wanted to run ;;w;; I've been waiting for this, after all
I feel like if there weren't that many people on the field, I would have sprinted and finished faster, unfortunately my sprint lacks direction control so I'm afraid that if I did sprint, I'd just cause an injury on me or another runner.

In all of this, I had to wait for my sisters to finish so I stood by the finish line for about 10-15 minutes just waiting for them to finish then after that, we collected our medals, loot bags and got ice cream and sweet buns that were given to the runners. After that, we had a more substantial breakfast, went hme, napped and now we're all up again while co-working together. All in all, it was a great day, a little drizzle but definitely fun. I would do this again, maybe just for the thrill of collecting more medals XD

Anywho, that was my weekend. How was your weekend?

Are activities like this very common in your province? I'm yet to see anything like this happening at my place haha.

well i live in the metro, not really the province but these activities are gaining traction lately because people my age are giving health importance

Good for them. I guess maybe metro areas conduct such activities there. I live in a sleepy town. People just do regular activities here. That's about it.

i believe even sleepy towns here hold a few festivals and activities here and there. it all depends on how actve their local government is. I live in a subdivision and that place has weekly zumba classes for everyone plus sports leagues so you can see the locality is pretty active

Activities are there but not health activities like this. It would be a rare sight. I'm not surprised because I keep seeing yhani from noisecash posting extracurricular activities like this and it kept me wondering why our schools here don't do that. Most of the time the math teacher borrowed that period haha.

ugh there's even more activities when you're in school 😩 but i guess culturally we just love arts and mobility in all aspects since this would be our people take pride in

Yeah i don't know about arts here. People are advised not to go into that field because it has not much demand here. Basically if you are an artist you'll automatically get a tag of being broke xd unless you are in the upper 10% where most people make it big.

then shouldn't that be more of a reason to hold and not contribute more to its lowering?
