WE297 || Coconut kisses, from my dad ...

Hello everyone, this weekend engagement, I want to eat something sweet and delicious, like the succulent tropical delight that makes me remember my beloved dad, who on February 19, yesterday marked one month since his departure to the Heavenly Eden.

This dessert is love and tradition of her favorites, that now, his recipe with its secret touch that is throw a lot of coconut travels back in time, it is a very special recipe for me, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, because I made them to remember that my dad made them and I can tell you that they are the best coconut kisses I have ever tasted.

Well, today in his honor, I decided to buy all the ingredients to make them following the instructions of my mom, who even at her 87 years, survives him. It is a true delicacy of the gastronomy of our Venezuelan cuisine, a culinary treasure that transports me to my childhood, at my parents' house.

Ingredients: 1 piece of paper (panela) of 500 grams, 1 cinnamon stick, 6 cloves, 1 coconut grated on the coarse side of the grater, 450 to 500 grams of all-purpose flour,
It's easy to do, it melts the papelon until a "melao (molasses)" or kind of light honey is made and then all the dry ingredients are mixed in a bowl, with the papelon melao, and that's it. Then they are put in an oven tray of the size you want between 35 to 40 minutes, at 180 degrees Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit, take out and let rest and then varnish with the honey (molasses).

This Venezuelan dessert is pure joy to live, for its simplicity and flavor and takes me back to those special moments with my dad, mom, friends, in a symphony that reminds us of the sea breeze and the Caribbean sun by the fusion of papelón and the soft creaminess of grated coconut that makes them irresistible. Enjoy and share, accompanied by a delicious coffee or tea, whatever you prefer.

Nice day 🌴 Janitze.

Thankssss 🌹🙏

Those coconut kisses look delicious. My mother used to make them a lot. I like them freshly made, with coffee and milk.

It is a very delicious recipe, which leaves me wonderful memories, experiences and learnings from my early childhood, besides that I love coconut, you know, that I missed telling you that to make the coconut kisses creamier, I add it to the mixture before baking condensed milk. ❤️ @verdesmeralda
