It would be a very easy decision, or I might have to flip a coin

Just because someone is part of my family doesn't mean I love them. For example, there are uncles I've seen maybe a couple of times in my life, and whether they live or die makes no difference to me.

This does not mean that in the event of a disaster I would let this relative die if it were up to me to choose between their life and that of 20 strangers. It all depends on who those 20 people are. For example, if they are politicians or criminals, I would save my uncle, but if they are complete strangers and I have no idea what their profession or role in society, then it becomes more difficult.

So if I had to choose between saving the life of a relative I am indifferent to and that of 20 total strangers, I think I would save the strangers if there were children there or if the group were mostly women. I feel a certain weakness or perhaps solidarity for the female sex, and that would be my motive in this case.

Now, if I had to save an aunt I don't care about or 20 men, I would probably choose my aunt. It's not personal, guys, but in general I don't trust men very much... Although I don't trust many women either, but if things got more difficult and I suddenly had to fight with the person I saved, at least that way I would have a better chance of defending myself or feeling more at ease.

Now, if I had to choose between a family member I love, such as my sisters, for example, I would save them without hesitation, regardless of whether the group of 20 consisted of cherubs.

I wouldn't want 21 people's lives to depend on me, but if I had to choose, I would choose the family member I love. And if I don't love them, apply some of the rules I used in the reasons explained above, if I have time to think, or if not, just flip a coin.
