@ gornat Welcome to The Ink Well!
This piece was a very good read. You have an interesting story-telling style, as if you were recounting something you had actually experienced yourself. I was hooked from the beginning. A few points to note: Your dialogue needs should be contained within speech marks and you should look to use some dialog tags as it wasn't clear at first that a conversation was ensuing between the husband and the creature whom he thought was his wife. It would also make it clearer as to who is talking at any one time. The second thing is that the story is incomplete. I assume that it is part of a serial fiction? In The Ink Well, we only accept and curate full short stories that can be completed in a single submission. We do, however, applaud your efforts here and look forward to reading some of your fully contained short stories in the future in the community.
