Perspective Exercise : the Fire Hydrant.

Hi everyone! 😊

Perspective is one of the most important things to master in drawing : so here I am, a little exercise. I'm not so satisfied by the result - as we don't feel a very consistent volume and that some lines betray the perspective - but this is interesting to talk about that, there are not only the perfect creations that deserve to be talked about, it doesn't exist anyway :)

So, let's check the process.

First, I trace the perspective guides. One point is out of the sheet, which is more difficult to handle with, I talked more about that in a previous topic.
Then I build the rectangle in which my fire hydrant will fit.

After that, the tough part begins. The fire hydrant is not a rectangular shape, but curvy one. So I should trace ellipse in every cubic form that I traced.

In fact, I did a really too complicated exercise for my perspective level. I really struggled to do the ellipses, and they are very bad.
As I wasn't satisfied by the result that appears progressively, I simply finished the drawing with intuitive perspective, that means actually draw instinctively without taking the marks too precisely.

I hoped to correct a little the shot with the final line, but it is precisely very awkward lol.

In conclusion, that was really too hard for me. I will start with more simple shapes at the next time, work my line and my ellipses in perspective.

Hope you will like it!

See you soon for more creations, with successful adventures I hope 😂

The drawing is nice and has a resemblance of a fire hydrant, you nailed it, impressive 🥰🙏

Thank you! :)

You are welcome, have a good time
