Hi fellow hivians! I am here to share my entry into this week's prompt on ' my way of revenging'. Sincerely, things happen and we find ourselves at one time or the other in some situations. Sometimes, we are cheated, underestimated, or ridiculed. The most painful part is that, this often come from friends and acquaintances, people we never expected such from. So, we're hurt so deep and we want to revenge.
Different people with different ways of revenging. Some wait for perfect time to return any I'll treatment in the same manner. My neighbour packed out of the house some months ago and took away some house tools that generally belonged to everyone like 'water fetcher' and so on. I didn't even know, until I got to the well and found nothing to fetch. It was so painful that I wish I could do something to return the gesture and also make him feel the hurt, but I let it go and bought another water fetcher.
Thankfully, he didn't move to a far place. It was still within the neighborhood. So, he came on a Sunday afternoon, knocking our gate, pleading for water. Seriously, it was a perfect time to revenge, because he never thought he could need our help again in that house, but at the same time, I just overlooked and let go
To be candid, my own way of revenging is different. I don't believe in 'an eye for an eye', because it profits me nothing. But I believe in "Success as the best form of revenge'. For many years, I watched my mother's best friend treat my mother with no respect. We really hold this woman in a high esteem. We used to go to her and inform her of every of our decisions, whether one of us was going to school or getting married and so on.
We were that close as family friends, but this woman never told my mother that her children had travelled out for almost five years until we discovered ourselves. My mother was hurt that she was not even informed for years. Instead of keeping malice or distance, I told my mother not to worry, but my siblings and I decided that day to be more diligent in our studies and make our mother proud.
Thankfully, three of my brothers are now practicing doctors in America. We never informed her, untill her son met one of my brothers at a conference in the US. That was it! That was revenge. Success! My brother even told the woman's son he had been there for two years with our brothers. He was shocked. They never thought that of us. He informed his mother, and she felt so bad. We didn't keep them at an arm's length, but we returned the favour at the top. That's just the definition of revenge to me.
