$75 CAD shipping charge and it still doesn't guarantee it getting there, what a bummer for you and the recipient. I never used FEDEX to ship anything, and likely continue to NOT use them unless I have no choice.

BTW I get a lot of fake FEDEX text messages saying that they are holding my package but want cash up front before releasing it.
