Me and my cooking gas!!.

in Daily Blog6 days ago

Hello Hive,

I was just very surprised how essential commodities keep hiking in the market places in my country.

You buy certain things now this much and price, within some space of time, you may find it very difficult to believe that this was the same thing you just bought. By price hike, everyone selling as they deem fit for themselves, nobody cares about the government prices, what can you do?, than to buy..

Giant factory cylinders que by retailers buying theirs.

My own 12.5kg cylinder I went with to buy for my family use.

You know gas does not announce it's finishing time, it does suddenly waves bye bye to you. very annoying, maybe you're hungry and just got back from somewhere, trying to make up some dishes, only to see that half on your way your cooking, gas burner lowers down or is totally off, signifying... your gas has finally finished, 😂. It happened to me on one important day last week. My gas cylinder being the bigger one..., about 12.5kg finished as I was still cooking a meal and I was very hungry, I just came back from somewhere....🤔😎.

You can see my cylinder in the long que, me that was very hungry, only came to see this...😂 Not funny....!

Though I still have a smaller one, 6 kg by measurement, a kind of camp gas cylinder.
But I mostly use this bigger one with three burners, oven and one electric burner. I can make three different cookings at once with this my gas cooker.

At this point, my son was not around, I then decided to go and buy the cooking gas myself. My type of cylinder is not heavy at all, very light... it's just a new model. I sold the weighty one I had before and bought this lighter one.I then got a motorcyclist to take me there. A cooking gas and kerosene Depot in my area.Normally the charge all around is #300 per every movement, With cyclists.

Myself and the motorcyclist on our way going there.

We were still on our way....

Here, he came back later to take me home, on our way home.... wow oooo, finally I was able to buy 😂.

We left, getting to the depot by name
"Second Coming".
This is a trusted gas depot in my area. The sale original cooking gas and very many people come here to buy gas both all those gas retailers and we the personal end users, we know that this depot is selling original gas unlike some others that sell mixed up that could blow up, maybe burn up somethings or even individuals. But never in the history of this depot has there been any quee or fake cooking gas sales. They always supply the best cooking gas in town and in my area.

They really have so much customers but never had been any quee of any sort. Anytime you come here .... Just buy and go. But today a long....que,
that I was very hungry also having half cooked meal, sudden quee was everywhere as you can see here.

I now remembered that there was some news in the radio that gas was scarce everywhere in the country because tanker drivers were quarrelling with Dangote's own gas tanker drivers about joining the public union of gas and kerosene tanker drivers association in Nigeria.

This minor argument now assumed the advert effect of gas scarcity and supplies in the country and in my state, I don't know about other states.

This now allegedly increased both the supply and the prices of gas per kg which in turn brought about long quee and this scarcity you are seeing here....ooo.
Every body was queueing up to buy, I then joined them.

The beautiful thing here is that the que was moving fast and faster before you looked back and front, It was my turn and I filled my cooking gas cylinder. Wow oooo 🤠 This gas depot is so organized. Getting there, you go to their office to pay for how many kgs or cylinders you wish to buy. The last time I bought here like two months ago, the price was one thousand and fifty Naira only.#1,050. But this time around it jumped up to one thousand, two hundred and fifty Naira per kg. #1,250.

The secretary and her colleague in their office. Immediately you come here, come to this office and pay, get your receipt for your supply.

On the front of her office door is their price list posted for your information..!

This is the supplying section, you can see the young man doing his job very well one after the other.

That's to say that two hundred Naira has been added to the normal price because of the few days squabbles of the tanker drivers associations disagreement in the country.

Frankly speaking, this is the cheapest as at that time, some gas stations were selling at 1,350 per kg while some others still were selling at #1,500 per kg. All over the town every body knew that there was scarcity of cooking gas and kerosene for those using that.

I bought as I could, I didn't filled it up. Fill up is double of what I paid here, my cylinder is a 12.5 gas cylinder,
it's really a big home use gas cylinder.

After buying anyway, I came back home and continued my cooking. And ate my meal but a little later than usual, no problems....😂.

Thank you for checking up on my blog post.

Have a nice day all, through and through.

Did you know that @stresskiller is also a witness now ?

Thank you very much, I will check it up.

The high cost of gas is saddening, because it is a country that is richly blessed with natural gas in abundance by the universe. It ought to be sold cheaply and affordable.

I hope the price drops drastically some day.
And please @ijebest,be safety conscious of using your phone in any gas ⛽ environment even at home, the atmosphere is always charged with the vapor.Think safety first, better still take photoshoot from afar by zooming in, at least if need be.
Anyway, thank you for updating and have a great day.

Yes...ooo, my brother I remembered that. I was taking these pictures with consciousness because I saw in Facebook sometimes ago someone that kind of gas explosion affected, it was very, very horrible.

Thank you so much for this reminder, very important.

Thank you also for your kind words, I appreciate, have a nice Sunday service, I'm getting ready for a Sunday morning service, see you later in the day!!!

Im in the UK so we only use gas this way for gas barbecues, which i prefer logs anyway to cook on. Anyone using gas generally get it through main supplies and you only run out of that if you can't pay bills.

Gas is so expensive it's a bit of a joke really.

Have the best day

Thank you, @benthomaswwd the moderator, It was the same method of gas supplies and usages as your own method in the UK, when my family lived in Hong Kong many yes ago.

This is the best method of supplies, but in this side of the world, Nigeria, it's entirely a different method.

Everyone is on their own, we keep carrying our cooking gas cylinders around, looking for and going to buy from gas depots whenever it happened as it happened to me.

So painful and embarrassing, but what can we do? That's how my country, Nigeria is built up, many important things are just complicated.
Thank you for your time, I appreciate!!

Humm.... exactly what happened to me today. I had to refill the gas even when I didn't plan for it

I think that's one of the mistakes from those that manufactured cooking gas cylinders.

To me, they supposed to include gas reading thermometer that should be indicating levels the gas is at every point, for one to know when it's at a near finishing point.

It will help us prepare our minds before cooking, how I hope this error can be amended, fixed or corrected.

My dear, one of the expenses I don't like making is buying gas. But I can't escape it. Moreso, gas seems to run out when one has more pressing needs to settle.

It's so painful... In overseas gas, cylinders are not carried around looking for gas, it flows through laid pipelines like as we get pump water that you only put on your gas burner and your gas begins to flow. You cook your food and only to pay your bills at the end of the month.

The same thing goes about phone calls, electric bulbs and tap water. All these has been channeled unlike in this country, Nigeria. It's confusing, only God can help us.

It's really a sad situation in our country

God will help us out.

When gas finished unexpectedly can be so annoying and the way gas rise now is something else God help us in this country

Amen oooooh, only he can change this country's condition to the better and to the best.

Hmmmm my dear same experience I had some weeks ago. Gas we bought last at 1150 suddenly increased to 1600 a kilo
Plus our gas station we usually fill gas were even out of stock for days.

Some others sold at 1700 and 1800
Terrible isn't it? Of course

My advice: Since you've the camp gas (6kg) cylinder, why not ensure you've some kilos of gas in there so when you eventually run out of gas in the 12.5kg, you won't be stranded and eat later as in the above case.

Thank you my sister, this situation has thought me a serious lesson, I just did that after that very day, because cylinders do not show up usage signs.

Thank you so much 👍 🙏

Thank you my good friend 🙏.
