They was an event in my church Yersterday . My pastor just got retired from church yesterday . He has spent up to 42 years serving God as a pastor .there were many people who came from different parts of the state to come and celebrate with him .
Before the main program we started the Sunday school program the Sunday school service is just like a bible study we have a Sunday school manual ,the Manual contain all kinds of topics for the year ,and they is always a new topic every Sunday .at the end of the year the church normally conducts exams to know if everybody understands what they have been taught previously.
After the Sunday school service the next thing that follows was praise and worship. My church is a Pentecostal church we do more of drumming and dancing when worshiping that’s part of our values, beliefs and doctrine of the church since when it was founded.
After the praise and worship we proceeded to read the opening hymn from the hymn book.after the hymn we started with opening prayers to start the service. After that they was bible reading , after the Bible reading few people who had special numbers were out for their special numbers before they all started people had one or more to say about the pastor they all spoke about their encounter with as a pastor and his personality outside the church. They all had beautiful things to say.
The planning committee also came out for thanksgiving for the successful preparations of the pastors retirements program after that they was presentation of medals for people who participated in football game during the week there was a week program dedicated to the pastor specifically during that program they was lots of activities .
After the church program they was an after party for all the guests and church members .
They were also presentation of gifts for the celebrant and special prayer for the retiree family .the ceremony was amazing my pastor is worth celebrating he’s a father figure and a great teacher to so many . I have known my pastor since when I was little seeing him grow up till this year and how devoted he’s to the call of God is amazing. His character is worth emulating,is kindness to the people in church and outside the church shows how he’s a good leader not just a leader but a good man of God . I’m definitely going to miss him because he’s going to be replaced with another pastor as he’s going back to his home town .
