The idea actually is just to make a simple sand pit so my little boy can play with his collection of construction at home. However, it brought another sweet moments at an impromptu visit to the local fish market and utililzing anything that we had. Greetings Hive Worlds! It's me Iris from East Java, Indonesia who will take you to dive into this fish frenzy to bring a beach scene to our home.
Our 3 year old boy, Hanzo really like construction truck since I casually bought him a set of it when he was around a year old. The interest keep growing with him and he really can spend hours playing with sands, stones, and the trucks' team. I used to bring him to a playground with a sand pit, but they are quite pricey and my working schedule wouldn't let me to do that often.
He used to play around our neighborhood to seek a plot of sands to play on. However, I worry about the hygene and also the weather situation. So, I got an idea to turn a small part of our veranda to as a beach-themed sand pit!
Of course we would need plenty of sands to fill the pit and I also planned to add some small stones, so they would fit in the smaller car toys as well. Because online shopping didn't bring satisfactory results, so we decided to visit the local pet market today, since it is a public holiday.
Our local pet market is very famous here in Malang. It was so old already and actually a part of an underserved neighborhood in our largest riverbank. It sells any kind of pet that you can imagine. Mamals, reptiles, fishes, insect were all here! I need the real beach sands therefore we visited the fish area to get some supplies.
This is the first time I brought my son here and he was very excited on the sight of it. He is currently into fishes and this place immediately light a spark of joy in his eyes.
The place was crowded as usual and not really organized but we had so much fun! I got a chance to let him see crickets up close, since usually he only hear its sound. Then we got to see turtles, his recent favorite animal.
This place sells pet utilities as well and you can find almost anything you need to make your pet feels like home. We plan to buy some beach sands and small stones, but I ended up buying shells, conch, and other accessories. But before that we enjoyed rows of fish displays. They were very beautiful! So many fishes in various colors, size, and shape were sold there.
My son begged for an aquarium as well, so we can have pet fishes, but I thought he weren't ready yet to take care another living being. So we just bought the sand pit needs today. It was quite a haul and so heavy my hubby were grumbling about it already. Nevertheless we were satisfied with our shopping frenzy and ready to build the sand pit.
