This weekend, I finally decided to take on a task I’d been putting off for months: fixing some of my clothes with loose seams. Even though I’m the kind of person who knows how to do a bit of everything — I can handle tools, I’ve built furniture on my own, and I’m pretty resourceful — sewing has never been my thing. I’ve always admired people who are good with their hands, but I have to admit I’d never really ventured into it myself.

I had asked my boyfriend to fix these pieces for me a while ago since he’s pretty handy with this stuff. But life kept moving, the days flew by, and he never really had the time. Instead of waiting even longer, I decided to give it a go myself. I went on Instagram, watched a few quick tutorials, and got to work — or better yet, got to the needle.

I spent quite a few hours sewing. Nothing professional, of course, but enough to save my clothes and, on top of that, learn something new. It was one of those experiences that show just how much we underestimate ourselves. There were crooked stitches, redone seams, and a few poked fingers… but in the end, it worked. And honestly, it was kind of therapeutic.

More than just mending clothes, I think I stitched up a bit of my own impatience — that habit of always relying on someone else’s time or postponing what I could try solving myself. It was simple, imperfect, but it was mine.

Passei algumas boas horas costurando.
