Unbelievable things are happening

in Hive Reachout8 months ago

I remember it clearly. It was December last year when I travelled home. On one of the days, my dad dragged me to a family meeting(extended family meeting), usually meant for males in the family. While they were doing their thing, they raised a motion about one of the family members who had been suspended. Some people were begging for the man to be allowed back into the family, but the majority of them raised fire and brimstone, refusing the idea. It was so intense that I got worried and very curious to know what the man had done that led to his suspension.

When I got home and asked my dad, he explained that the man and his wife sold their newly born baby. Abomination! I was dumbfounded because I knew the man.

I have heard of many occurrences of this nature. I have seen it in movies and read it in the news, and never did I ever think that something like that could happen in my area — not just my area, but within my extended family.

Guess why they sold the baby?

It was because of money!

The issue was a big slap to the extended family, hence the reason they took the decision to suspend him.

Not only that — when the extended family found out, they reported the issue to the police in an attempt to retrieve the baby from whomever the baby was sold to. The process was very elongated and required a lot of financial expenses, but they were not able to retrieve the baby because, according to reports, the man and his wife sold the baby to unknown people in a very secretive manner, and there was no way to find out who they were.

While this may sound stupid and unbelievable, it was actually the wife of the man, who is near menopause, that did the whole thing — because the man is blind and cannot see at all... They're kinda old already.

The whole situation was unbelievable to me, and it's very hard to forget because I just can't comprehend the life the child will come to live, even though he may live well and be told that he was adopted when he's grown. Well, that's adoption, but a very illegal one.

But come to think of it too — what if the baby boy was sold off for money rituals?

When I heard about it and thought deeply, I became very mad and saw myself in the shoes of the extended family members, understanding why the man was suspended from being a member of the extended family. That's a big disgrace to the family and, also, it does not speak well of a family.

Thanks for reading.
