I am Onunkwo Chidinma Precious. My friends call me Nwa Prof and as I writer, I go by the pen name, Night_Glow.
I am from the beautiful state of Anambra and a 400l student of Veterinary Medicine studying in Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike.
Being a student and striving to earn some extra income to alleviate the worries of my parents, isn't easy, especially combining it with Vet — a very jealous course.
*What I Do *
I am a Writer and a budding Graphic designer.
Like the word budding, my skills in Graphic designing are all in the noob stage. I am still improving and polishing the skills I have learnt so far.
As a writer, I have written on many other Webnovel online platforms and even cooperate with companies as a behind the scene writer (ghostwriter).
The genres I love so much and love writing about, is the Fantasy genre with a bit of Romance and Paranormal.
Writing and Reading has always been a source of joy to me. Infact, it is a way for me to destress and get off a bad day.
My love from writing stems from my love for reading.
When I started writing novels, I was still young, being in primary 3 as at then.
I started with My Wicked Stepmother and Cinderella themes, in hopes that my parents would one day publish my book in the form of paper backs.
I wrote in notebooks and even collaborated with my primary school friend who was an artist. I would write and give space, just for him to draw illustrations of what I wanted.
I kept writing in books, until I came across Online writing platforms that had a wider audience.
Then, it began with Wattpad and soon I migrated to other platforms.
To me, writing and reading goes hand in hand. You can't make a door to open for you if it doesn't have hinges.
Writing gives me confidence and allows me to speak to a broader audience.
It allows me to build worlds, characters and personalities that do not exist.
It allows me to communicate without actually talking.
I wouldn't say I am good when it comes to standing in front of an audience to talk. I would rather prefer you give me a book and ask me to write.
Sometimes, my friends call me typewriter because of how fast I write and how I am able to note down almost everything being said.
Being a writer, sometimes I wish I actually have a skill in drawing. I loved how simple pictures could be so fascinating and contain a lot of informations. I wanted to learn graphic design and I learnt it.
Despite school stress, I didn't let it stop me. Within me, I knew I just had to learn it.
At first, the thirst to learn graphic design was because I wanted to design my own book covers. I wanted a book cover that will draw readers from miles away and speak volumes about my book.
I didn't want to just learn it to keep the skill aside. I wanted to build book covers that can tell you everything about a novel from a glance and still hook you in, like a seductive lady that ensnares her prey.
Due to my love for Veterinary Medicine, writing and graphic design, I attached myself to an international association, that not only opened doors for me to meet people from all works of life, but also groom my leadership skills.
Now, I serve as the Secretary General of the local chapter of the organization in my school.
I am able to write minutes, organize events, handle all information with care and take care of the organization documents etc.
Learning how to balance all this with school hasn't been easy. Sometimes, I feel like I am losing on all ends, but when I think about how far I have gone and what I have achieved so far, I realize that I am training myself.
I was introduced to hive by my friend @kingdomzy . I never knew that such a platform existed and thanks to @kingdomzy, I was able to find such a gem.
@kingdomzy introduced me to @kingsleyy who helped bring me into this great platform.
When @kingdomzy introduced me to this platform and describe the weekly contests that is being held and how everything works, I was surprised. I didn't know such a block chain platform existed. Even the method of signing in amazed me.
When he told me about this platform, I felt itt was another opportunity to train my skills, but he said that I would be limiting myself if I only thought of it that way. He added, that I would find out more once I begin to write and engage in more communities.
Through this, I realized that I can connect with like minded individuals here and probably get more opportunities.
To this, I am excited and I find this very interesting.
I am looking forward to engaging and connecting with like minded individuals and I would say a thank you in advance.
