Oh, what a great day it was knowing that my CDs were having their sensitization at an orphanage home that also had older people. I had been anticipating it because it was one of the impactation I want to render to before leaving NYSC, and I am grateful my CDs made it a dream come through. so let me give you the gist of the day, from the planning down to the final meeting.
Am a corps member currently serving in Ebonyi state, Nigeria. There are different CDs, although I am in Financial Inclusion CDs, I love them so much, and guess what, I am the “Treasure” of my CDs. We have been planning this sensitization since the last one, which we had in different schools by impacting the lives of the children and making them see reasons to study hard for a brighter future. Although that's not where am going, I just wanted to enlighten us a bit on how my CDs goes for to different place to enlighten people. Financial Inclusion, Creating s future with financial acumen.
The whole preparation started as we, the executives, came to a conclusion with our CDs members telling them to support the sensitization programs with any amount they had so that we can get things for the people in the orphanage home, as regarding our little effort. My people really turned up, I was so happy, we had external support from friends outside our CDs who also wanted to be a partaker of the program. At this point, money was readyyyyy, I my vice president had to go and get the things that were going to be given to them, which were all foodstuffs, less I forget, some people donated clothes, shoes, and other nice stuff for this program.
And yes, it was the day when everyone in their khaki with their white top and cap, which signifies us as corps members, we had a public address sound system, which we used to play music on our way to the orphanage home, and everyone was thrilled.
Now, the time when I felt so emotional, we got there already, and the people were sitting and ready to have us speak to them we had different speakers with so much emotion story that drop tears out of my eye, and also encouraged them to feel among. One of the speakers stated that they are not less privileged or disabled. Still, they are “specially able, even if they might need special care, and also give them a thought that they are part of the community, and they can do things like every other person. We also gave them business ideas that they can do to earn things for themselves.
Well, we had fun at the end of it all because they were so happy to have us with them; it was a great one and a blessing to us all, having to put smiles on their faces. So I hope you enjoyed my little gist, even if I can’t type all, maybe I will do the vlog of it for some of my hives to watch.
Thanks for your time. Also, the pictures tell the story.
