At first I wondered why there were two types of "vacations" and what made us take them on those dates. Now that the "cold" has been extreme this week, I'm wondering what the reasons are for taking them on these dates, and why we call these "vacations" "winter"
En esta época del año nos tomamos dos semanas de ¨vacaciones¨, la primera hizo mucho ¨frio¨ por eso no salimos mucho de casa, pero como esta segunda semana estuvo el clima más agradable hemos visitado varios lugares de la ciudad donde la pasamos muy bien
This time of year we took a two-week "vacation." The first week was very "cold," so we didn't leave the house much. However, since the weather was nicer this second week, we visited several places in the city where we had a great time.
