God does not dwell in the house built by men. It's greater than everything you can imagine. God is not something that dwells in an object. God is the creator of heaven and earth. The universe also belongs to him.
If we are building a house just for him to dwell in then we are limiting God. He is the one that created the entire universe. He doesn't need a special house to dwell in. Trying to build the house of God is just like saying you are representing a bigger nature of it.
We can think of building that place but we cannot confine God. God is everywhere and really knows what is important. It is only our heart that can be prepared as a temple because God can dwell in us. We must know ourselves. We are the temple of God. And this temple is not made by hand. This is why Apostle Paul also admonished us that we must keep our body acceptable unto God.
The house of prayer was built in Jerusalem. It was such a big structure back then. But, it was later admonished. Another king resurrected it again. The structures is no longer existing. It was just a story that reminds us of that there was another part of it.
We are the temple of God. We must serve and believe in Him.
