We are expected to always draw close to God as believers, so he has called us to follow him. We are to obey his commandments, trust in God and believe that he is going to guide us through every path. We must not run away from the responsibility and the purpose that God has given us here on earth, but we must obey his law and work according to his will.
As believers, staying far away from God is very unpleasant. Those who have separated themselves from God are separating. Themselves from the eternal life that lies ahead. We are always expected to connect ourselves to God so that we will reign on earth and also in the kingdom.
Drawing far away from God is so unhealthy and not fruitful. God does not want his children to be far from us because he loves us all. He has always loved us right from when he created us, so we are not supposed to be far from him.
That is why God is telling us in order not to be distant ourselves, we must repent, turn away from our sin. Because the more we sin, the more we go far away from God, which God does not want. Sin is the major criteria that separates us from God and draws us closer to the devil.
We must always be closer to God by following his word, obeying his commandments and living according to his purpose for us.
