The body of sin followed us from our old adamic nature. The adamic nature is the nature of sin which we inherited from parents. Our parents were Adam and Eve. When God created them, He placed them in the beautiful garden which He planted for them. They were not careful to uphold the instructions of God. They allowed the devil to deceive them and lure them away from obeying the commandments of God. That is the beginning of sin.
The Lord Jesus Christ had come and He had redeemed us from sin by the sacrifice of himself on the cross of Calvary. That cross was the beginning of a new way. The cross is where all our sins were crucified. We are now free from sins. We are to live in righteousness and holiness. Sin should not have dominion over us. Through the blood of Jesus Christ, we have been washed clean.
There is an opposition to the will of God right inside of us. Our flesh always works against the will of God. It is by the spirit that we will be able to live and do the will of God. The flesh does not want us to obey God's commandments.
To be able to do what is righteous as oppose to the flesh that works in us, we must be fully acquainted with the Word of God. We must obey the Word of God. Also, we must submit ourselves unto the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will be able to guide us into obedience to God.
