The year is ending. We are taking stock of our endeavors for this outgoing year. We do this to strategize for the incoming year. We should have a good plan and strategy for the coming year, that is the right thing to do, I think. I myself am going to make new plans for the coming year. In doing this I would evaluate the things I have done and see what things I should change and which one I should improve on.
When pressing for success, we should understand that we are not going to succeed just by folding our hands and sitting down in one place to pray. No, it won't work that way. Prayers alone cannot change us. When we pray we must make a conscious effort and change our ways. We should not continue in wrong doing and expect to see the favour of God. Everyone will be responsible for his or her actions. We are not going to live like that. We must work.
Work is the assignment that God created us. We were created to work. God told Adam to dress and keep the garden. So, there is no success without a good work ethic. There is no breakthrough without hardwork. Hard work is the basic ingredient for a successful life. So just praying alone will not give us what we are asking from God. We must pray and believe and then go out to work.
James 2:18-20 (KJV) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
