Marriage is an institution which God initiated. There is no idea of marriage outside God that will work. Anyone who tries to initiate marriage on his or her own perspective will certainly meet with failure and disappointment. Marriage is God plan and initiative.
We need companionship in life. God had understood this from the very beginning. He Himself created man so that he could have someone to relate with. He said Let us make man in our own image and likeness, Gen 1:26-28. There is no other creature which God created with such precious privilege. He created man to be with Him. That is why we must return back to God through salvation in Jesus Christ.
According to Bro Eli Soriano in this video, we are to go to God to receive our spouses. It is not only wives that we can receive from the Lord, we can equally receive husbands from the Lord. As a matter of fact, we should look up to God to receive our marital partner.
Trying to get ourselves hook up with marital partners is dangerous if we do it without God’s directive. Our parents can give us houses and wealth but they can't give us a prudent wife. Only God can give us marital partners who will give us peace. Let us marry according to God's instructions and allow Him to give us parents which will make us have happy homes.
