The rest that God has promised us is coming in Jesus Christ. It is in Jesus that we will have the peace and the rest which will give us true peace from the struggles of life. There's no peace in the world. The Lord Jesus Christ told us that we cannot have peace from the world. We should look up to Jesus Christ because it is in Him that we will see peace.
In the world there is tribulations. It is pains and suffering that we are hearing from every corner of the world there's no peace anywhere in the world. The world lacks peace. Imagine the wars and the terrorism that is tormenting people in the world. So, just as Jesus said, in the world we only have tribulations.
The Israelites observed the seventh day sabbath but that didn't give them rest. In the new testament, the Lord has promised us a true sabbath. This sabbath is in Jesus Christ. Anyone who comes to Jesus Christ shall have peace. He said come unto me all of you who labour and are in heavy burden, I will give you rest. We should come to Jesus and receive rest.
