It was a misconception that made some christian organizations forbid their members from watching television. There are many good sides to watching television. We should not because of the wrong influence which it might have on people, then conclude that we should not watch television.

We can reach a lot of people with the gospel of Jesus through television. These days, we can easily send gospel messages to people through the television. So, television is a good thing.
There are many cases of wrong influences and abuses relating to the use of the television and movies. One should learn to discipline his or herself so that he or she will not be wrongly influenced by movies. There are good movies as well as bad movies. Let us select what we watch.
