There are doctrines in the way of worship of God. God has His own method of service which He expects from us. We cannot deny the way that God wants us to serve him and then chooses our own ways and expects Him to take delight in such. God is not answerable to any of us. We are answerable to Him. He is our God and we are His subjects. As those who are His followers or worshipers, we must be ready to obey Him in all things. God has the ways and manner in which He wants His worshippers to worship Him.
When the Lord Jesus Christ came to the earth, he offered himself unto John the Baptist to be baptized. That was humility. The humility there is that though he was the creator, He submitted Himself to his creature to baptize him. He did that to teach us that we should submit ourselves to accept His standard no matter what. He did that to teach us that we are not in anyway bigger than his principles. If he being God could humble himself to accept baptism, then why should we not accept everything he had committed unto us the doctrines of the church?
Baptism is an important aspect of the teaching of Jesus Christ which every christian must obey. We are to be baptized. It is what our master taught us. There is no other way of being happy in God than to obey his commandments. Obedience is better than sacrifice. It is the heart of rebellion that always wants to argue with the commandments which is given.
