We are the salt of the earth. We are the seasoning components of the world. All those who have given their lives to Jesus and believe in the doctrines of Christ are the disciples of Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ referred to His disciples that they are the salt of the earth. Salt is good. The Bible confirms that. It warns that when the salt has lost its savour, it won't be useful anymore and would be cast to the floor then men will trode it under foot.
Understanding this, it should be clear to us that we are meant to do good. We are in this world to season it. God has ordained us, His children to make the world a better place. We should not refrain from doing this. We should not keep what we have received from the Lord away from those who are in need of it. The world needs to be seasoned. We must rise up and contribute to the positive development and wellbeing of our fellow human.
It is not only that, we are the light of the world. The light is in us. What is in the world is darkness. The darkness of sin and wickedness dominates the world. Light of light the world through our good works. Lat us shine in the light before all men so that they can see our good works and glorify God who is in heaven.
