Hearing and listening. These two words with very distinct meanings. To hear mean to receive the sound waves as it comes into our ears. When someone hears , the words that he or she is hearing does not make any meaning of him or her. It is when we listen to what we have heard that we can actually understand what we have heard. Hearing alone does not confer the information to someone. Listening make someone to actually receive the information. There have been many people talking around us and heard all those noises when we are in public places. It is only when we are listening to someone that we can repeat what he or she said to us.
We should not just hear the word of God, we should listen to it. We should not lose concentration when we are in the audience where the Bible is taught. Let everything in us be attentive to the teachings of the Word of God. The power of the Word of God will not work in us when we are not listening to the teachings of God's word properly. Faith can only come when someone has been taught and he or she tightly understand what the word of God says. Such a person begins to act according to what he or she has heard. It is when we act on the word of God that we can receive the results as the Bible tells us
