To lead a productive christian life while we are here on earth, we must understand the Bible. The Bible is the manuscript which God has given to us to read and follow so that we can be able to do his will. It is in the Bible that we can see the doctrines of Jesus Christ for the church. Our christian life depends upon the doctrines. When we understand the Bible, we will be able to follow the doctrines of Jesus Christ.
By Reading The Bible Everyday
One of the steps in understanding the Bible is to read it daily. We should cultivate the habit of reading and studying the Bible. How can someone understand something that he has not read or something that he has not been told. The passages of the Bible is conveying to us the Word of God. The Word of God is a living thing but without knowing it, you might not benefit from the life that is in it.
By Meditating On The Bible
What we should do with the Bible reading is to meditate on it. We should not just read the letters, we should squeeze the spirit from the letters by meditating on it. The Word of God will not profit us in any way if we do not meditate on what we are reading. When we meditate, we are actually digging deep to understand more of what the message is telling us. Every message is giving us a divine instruction. This instruction will be unproductive as far as we are not reflecting on what we have learnt.
