The thief on the cross received mercy from God. The Lord Jesus Christ had mercy on him. When he was heading to destruction, mercy intercepted his journey and took him to redemption. He is a good example of the work of grace. This man was condemned by the counsel of men but the council of God brought forgiveness his way. His evil works had a toll on him. He was condemned because he deserved it. But when mercy entered, redemption and forgiveness met. The story of this man teaches me something much more. It teaches me mercy.
Brethren, we are blessed with the grace of God that offers salvation. The Bible says that the grace of God has appeared unto all men. This grace offers salvation on the platter of mercy. We must not defy this. We must not toy with this. We have salvation now from God because of the grace that Jesus Christ brought. Our sins are grievous and we are condemned. We do not have any hope outside of Jesus Christ. Let us utilize the grace of God and accept the ways of God. It is the season of mercy when everyone will be forgiven.
Talking about the subject of baptism, we must be baptized. This is the doctrine that Jesus Christ taught us. He said everyone who believes should be baptized in the name of God the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is an important part of our belief. We must receive baptism. We should not disobey God. If we reject what Jesus had told us then we not truly his disciples.
