What makes people to be preoccupied with death? Why do they have the fear of death? It is the dread of the unknown. It is the fear of what will happen after death. Because a lot of people have known that there is judgement after death, they become fearful of death.
It would have been better if we have known the obeyed the commandments of God. The unwillingness to obey God and the habit of living in sin hunt many people so that they become so much afraid of what will be their state after death. There is judgement coming. After death, the Bible says judgement is coming.
Anxiety and depression come because of fear. There is danger in allowing any of these to grip our hearts. We should have cast our cares on God and trust in Him. We should allow Him to help our lives. We should be preoccupied with the things that matters most. What matters most is what will come afternoon death. We should not forget that judgement is coming.
