Ideology. MCGI TOPIC REVIEW

There are a set of beliefs which influence the way people in particular society or community conduct themselves. This is what constitutes ideology. Ideology is not bad when applied to human concepts and behaviors. But setting the Bible as a system of beliefs is not correct. In fact it is wrong to consider the Bible as a system of ideology. It is not right and applicable in any way. Ideology and philosophies have their own place but the word of God is not in any way connected to them.

Ideology is built upon human philosophy. These philosophies are what men have experienced in their life. We cannot characterize the Bible to experiences. Is it by experience that a sick person is healed? Does deliverance happen due to experimental practices? No, none of the working of the Holy Spirit is attributed to experiences. Experiences have their importance in building wisdom into man but these do not influence the move of the Holy Spirit in the church.

The Bible is the book which contains the Word of God. It is the word of God that we study from the Bible. The christian faith is not built on experiences. It is not formed upon ideology. Ideology is built upon human philosophy and knowledge. The Bible teaches us the knowledge of God’s Word. That word of God is what we build our beliefs in God upon. This is why we should trust God not minding the physical symptoms which we have. Believing in God should not be influenced by our society or background. We should believe in God because He is God and that His Word is greater than human understanding.
