Colossians 3:16-17 (KJV) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Movies are a good medium for disseminating information. We have been receiving several messages through the movies and videos. The Bible lessons have been conferred to us through the video media. We cannot say that watching movies is sinful. It is not sinful. Instead, it is helpful. We learn many things from movies. We ourselves have been using movies to send messages to people. We learn many lessons from the movies that we are watching.
The content that someone consumes determines how the person will be affected (whether positively or negatively). There are corrupt and immoral contents which are not good for a christian consumption. We should avoid such contents like that. It is not that the movie itself (as a technology) is bad. It is not bad. It is good. It is helpful in propagating the gospel of Jesus Christ. There are many people which we can't reach physically which have been able to be reached through these media platforms. So, watching movies is not a bad thing.
Matthew 15:11, 17-20 (KJV) Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
