Right from the beginning of creation, God has demanded that man should obey His commandments. We can remember that when God created man, (that was Adam the first man who ever lived) He put him in a garden (that was the garden of Eden). The garden was blessed with many goodies but the Almighty God set up rules for man to obey. Our lives cannot be meaningful if we refuse to abide by the rules.
Several things in life demand rules. Someone who lives his life without following rules and principles will not make a fulfilled life. Living without complying to the rules in certain situations is the cause of indiscipline. Indiscipline is a bad habit. Many people live their lives this way. We must learn discipline. Self-control is a virtue which everyone who wants to succeed in life must learn. Without self-control, we cannot obey God.
The commandments of God are another set of rules which we must obey. We must obey God’s commandments and do whatever he commands us to do. Living to please God should be our priority in life. God calls us unto obedience to him. The Bible contains the commandments which God has ordained that we should walk in them.
To obey the commandments of God,we must understand the Bible. That is why we should read our Bible everyday. We must be well acquainted with the Word of God so that we can be able to understand what God wants us to do. Reading the Bible is a basic doctrinal principle of the church of God.
