The Lord Jesus Christ is our Master and our Teacher. He came to teach us the ways of God. The Bible says that God declared to the whole world that he (Jesus Christ) is the Son of God. He is the one whom God said that we should listen to. As his disciples, following his teachings is what will make us real disciples. Just as we have heard, some disciples are not true disciples. They are those who call him Lord, Lord but their hearts are far from the Master.
The disciple obey the teachings of his Master. Without obeying the teachings of your Master, you are not his disciples. Following the teachings of our Lord alone is what will qualify us as the true disciples. Let us be obedient to his commandments. Let us keep his words and always obey them. Let us do those things which we are taught and refrain from doing the ones which we are told not to do.
The disciple should understand his Master's word. This is why we should study the Word of God daily. The Lord commanded that we should read and meditate on His words daily. When we are fully acquainted with the commandments of God, it will help us to obey Him. As his disciples, let study and understand His words.
