Honestly, been broke as a married man can make you imagine what can only happen in Nollywood and that is what is happening to me now. So, it’s past midnight, and I’m lying in bed, not really sleeping because my mind is racing from one thought to another. You know that feeling when you're broke, and every cent counts, but your bank account still looks like it’s in desperate need of a donation? Yeah, that’s me right now.

I start thinking about how amazing it would be to just find some random cash lying around. Like, out of nowhere, just a bag of cash appearing on my doorstep, even better, I wouldn't mind if it is some bundle to can solve my finances for the week.
I know it sounds ridiculous, but hear me out, Have you ever thought about how much of a game-changer that would be when you're low on cash? It’s not like you’re expecting it. You're just going about life, broke, with barely enough to get by, and boom, there’s this bag of money, like a little gift from the universe, before you think of reporting it, I swear most people will firstly solve their financial issues and I'm not excluded with my current situation.
I started to imagine the scene in my head, almost like a mini-movie. I just step out of my room and find the bag just right at the doorstep. And then, suddenly, I opened it and find cash inside. I’d stare at it for a second, half in disbelief, and then... realize that it’s exactly what I need to make it through the week or better still, to change my life around. The first thing is to buy groceries, pay for a few essentials, or dare I say it, maybe even treat myself to something fun. It would feel like winning the lottery, but without having to buy a ticket.
Now, I’m not saying I believe in some magical cash fairy who drops money when you need it most (though that’d be pretty sweet). But for a split second, it felt nice to imagine. It’s funny how when you’re in a tight spot, your brain starts playing games like this, making you daydream about finding unexpected money, or maybe a surprise paycheck, or some other random act of fortune that would instantly fix everything.
The best part is that You could call it “free money,” even though, deep down, you know the world doesn’t work like that. But it’s nice to have these little daydreams, even if they’re just random thoughts that pop up at 2 a.m.
Who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually find a dollar bill tucked in some old book or in the back of a drawer. For now, though, I’ll just keep dreaming about it.
