Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
Happy New Year, everyone! We have made it to the new year, and to the first Caturday of 2026!
A rare bit of winter sunshine!
We enjoyed a fairly quiet New Year's even around here, and Shangri and Nala were only made a little uncomfortable by the occasional background popping of fireworks.
Although they have gotten quite tame and relaxed, there's little doubt those two have some noise-related trauma somewhere in the early parts of their lives.

One of my New Year's "ambitions" was to try to get the Caturday updates posted a little earlier in the day, but it lookes like we failed at that, right out the gate.
Oh well, that only means that we don't have to deal with that disappointment, later in the year!
Shangri, chilling...
We have decided to forego having a formal goals post this year... and the extent to which we have a goal for Hive, it is to make it to 7,500 Hive Power by the end of the year. Should be doable!
Other than that, we might put most of our liquid rewards into something interest bearing like HBD and/or SURGE... but not going to make any predictions as to how much we might end up with.

It has been nice that the Hoomans have been taking a few "days off" which means more time to pay attention to us cats!
But I also know they are getting ready to hit the world running on Monday... particularly the Mom-Hooman has a lot of clients lined up, already. But that's really OK, because we do want the cat treats to keep flowing!

The Son-Hooman is still staying with us, and it seems he will be here until sometime in February. He spends most of his time playing games on the computer, on the big screen TV... and sometimes we watch, because there is lots of color and movement!
We don't much like it when he shouts at the TV, though... I guess those games get a bit frustrating, sometimes

Next "event" on our personal cat agenda comes next month when it will be Smudge's 21st birthday! That actually makes her the oldest cat we have ever had in our household.
In spite of the fact that she can't see very well anymore, she's still remarkably active and alert!
