They are actually adapting quite well.

We have blocked off the space under the bed, but provided them with hidey holes where they are a little easier to get to, if we have to.

Curator Cat aka Shadow is being very gentle with them. So far just noses and head bonks and rolling over flops. We're hopeful that the integration will be very smooth.
