Curator Cat: Our New Favorite Thing!

in HiveCats12 days ago

Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

In yesterday's caturday update I mentioned that the Mom-Hooman had brought in a bucket of grass as a treat for us cats.

This is the greatest thing ever!

Well, this has quickly turned into our new very most favorite thing in the house!

If you have cats in your life you're probably aware that we really like to nibble and green stuff, when presented with the opportunity. This is why house plants and cats often do not do well together!

Nala, ever curious, was actually the first one to check it out!

But not all green things are bad for cats, and in fact in nature we are likely to nibble on a few green things as well because it helps with our digestion.

However, I don't think the Mom-Hooman realized what a huge success that bringing in this little bucket of grass was going to be, in terms of how much we enjoy it.

Shangri wants in on the action!

Even after just a few days, it's already beginning to look like something has been seriously grazing on it! Which — of course — we have!

Thankfully, regular old lawn grass is pretty harmless to cats and we really like chewing on the fresh shoots. I think the Mom-Hooman is also grateful for the fact that there has not been a lot of kitty ook around the house!

Three cats grazing!

In fact our usage has been so intense that now the Hoomans are talking about actually starting a second pot outside so when this one gets decimated to the ground they can bring in another one and so new grass can be grown in the one we just trimmed down.

That seems like a really good arrangement to me! It would be nice to have something fresh and green were actually allowed to eat, and always available.

This is so cool!

Of course, that does not stop me from trying to sneak into the living room where the house plants are and have a nibble in there. There isn't anything actually toxic in there, but there are a couple of plants that make me a little bit sick to my stomach.

On the whole, the Hoomans do a pretty good job of policing that space so it's pretty rare that I get in there.

And, of course there's always the allure of doing something that is not allowed!

Afterwards, taking a nap in the sun, in the Mom-Hooman's office!

For now though, I'm just going to be very grateful for the new grass and I know the other cats are as well. Even Smudge comes out for an occasional nibble!

Thanks for stopping by to visit our little cat blog, and we hope to see you again soon! If you have cats in your life, why not share a post with them here on Hive?

Love Cats? Get Involved in Hive's Cat Communities!

If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?

These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Many of the allow you to share your cat posts, even if you started at a different community!

HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!

Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!

Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!

I've also learned that nibbling on green stuff helps clean cats teeth as well.

Thanks for the idea with the bucket, I was just thinking about organizing something similar for my pets !INDEED !ALIVE
