RE: How do you prefer to drink your milk? (Mini comment contest # 11)

in Amazing Drinks17 days ago

Hello!
Thank you so much for the award!
Congratulations to all the participants and the winners in general!

THIS IS MY PARTICIPATION IN THE MINI CONTEST:

Today's topic brings back many memories...
I say memories because where I live, drinking milk is a luxury that not all of us can afford these days.
But I did enjoy better times when milk, in many forms, was plentiful and very cheap. Times when you could enjoy cans of condensed milk, raw, cooked, with chocolate, ice cream, malt, cookies... Phew... my mouth is watering as I write these words, and I know many of you won't understand, because normal, perhaps for you, is being able to access something as basic as dairy products...

I continue to evoke my favorite flavors in relation to milk...

I don't know about you, but that glass of freshly milked natural milk, straight from the field, freshly boiled, with a tablespoon and a half of brown sugar, or raw sugar as it's also called, and a touch, or two, or even three, of strong coffee... It's the perfect way to start the day.

I also passionately visualize being able to pour hot chocolate into a nice jug of hot milk while enjoying a sunrise with birds singing across the mountains and the dew falling from the trees creating rainbows... I'm writing and I feel the temperature in my hands and the smell of that exquisite beverage...

Another way I like to drink milk is very unique. I learned it while immersing myself in South American culture, specifically Argentine and Uruguayan. From that moment on, my passion for drinking yerba mate became perpetual in all its forms. And one of the forms I learned has stayed with me forever. It involves pouring hot milk over the mate once it's been soaked. The milk reactivates the flavor and makes it exquisitely stimulating.

Of course, I also like cold milk, but if I have to choose, I'll stick with any of the options mentioned above, and others I won't mention for reasons of space.

Before closing, I invite @maiasun84 to share her thoughts on the subject with us.

And now, asking you all to smile, I bid you farewell with a big hug and a toast of light to everyone!

Thanks a lot!
It's truly a pleasure for me!
Have a great evening!

Those flavors stay with us, and when we have the chance to enjoy them again, even though they no longer taste the same, they stimulate our memories. Sometimes it's simply wonderful, and it's strange to repeat them again, given the limitations you've endured. I've tried milk straight from a freshly milked cow; it doesn't taste the same as the stuff sold commercially; it smells like cow, ha ha. I can imagine the taste with mate, since I haven't tried it, something like milk tea, perhaps.

¡Hola!

Hi @roswelborges

Reading your comment is bittersweet... Sweet, because I always think food (and drink), emotions, and memories are intertwined, something that can't be separated, and it's nice to know you remember those moments when you enjoyed milk in different ways.

It's bitter, because it's sad to know we can't enjoy the basics of life. Human beings COME TO THIS PLANET TO BE HAPPY, not to learn from bad experiences, nor to be cannon fodder. Enjoying good food and good drinks is part of being happy.

I love dairy milk, and I can still buy it since I live in a rural area. And yes, paired with coffee, or simply on its own, it's delicious.

Thank you for participating in this mini-contest, and I sincerely wish for better times to come for everyone.

Cheers!

Hello!
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I feel the same way and I hope the same.
Big hugs!

Hola!
Me ha encantado la idea de servir chocolate caliente con leche y tomarlo viendo el amanecer, eso debe ser un momento sublime! 😊

¡Pues a por ello!

Beautiful memories that make your mouth water, that's the way to be happy. Here we have access to milk and other dairy products, they are not cheap, but we make the effort to buy them regularly.

Chocolate milk is delicious and contemplating nature even more so.

That's right!

Blessed are you who can! Seize and enjoy those opportunities!

And yes, I love drinking a nice cup of hot chocolate or coffee while it rains in nature, in the mountains or by a lake, for example.

Thank you for your kind words!

Have a beautiful day!
