Hello all Hive People & @splinterlands lovers,

When ever I talked with someone about the crypto currency then the first reply I got is that the crypto market is volatile and they are right about them, the second is always a doubt that how we can believe on any crypto project and how to check if the project is legit and will not run away with our invested money. The decentralize concept has its own advantages and disadvantages also. In past we have witnessed many false projects popped up in the market and run away, in crypto world we called it Ruggpull. But as a part of @splinterlands community we can proudly says that the Project is going to complete the fantastic 8 Years in crypto space and precisely the web3 play2earn game section.
It was awesome when I was watch the latest town hall and it was even more awesome to see the energy of the team. The hosts kicked things off with festive celebration caps. In a volatile world of Web3 and blockchain gaming many project some and go in a blink of an eye. The 8 years are not a small journey and Splinterlands has expended and build the community and become a most durable, and resilient gaming ecosystems in blockchain history.
To honor this incredible 8-year legacy, let’s take a walk down memory lane to see how a blockchain based card game evolved into an unstoppable Web3 empire. I love to highlight some major milestone completed and also some major decision taken by the management.

The Evolution of Card Editions
Alpha Edition
- Alpha was the very first set released in May 2018, the set was containing the 59 cards. Their were only 300,000 Alpha booster packs were ever printed.

Alpha Core Set Card
The core set was containing the cards form six splinters i.e. - Fire, Water, Life, Earth, Death & Dragon. Each splinter was containing the 11 (one summoner and 10 monster/unit cards)cards expect Dragon, which was containing four cards only. Afterwards the promo cards were released and those four cards were form Dragon Splinter, 2 Summoners and 2 Units. Promo cards were rewarded to the those players participated in Kickstarter and provide the funding for development in the early stages (they should be for showing the trust in initial days of the project).

Alpha Promo Cards
Because of the limited pack supply their is still scarcity and cards are best in game because of massive Collection Power (DEC burn value) and they are considered as ultra-premium, and top choice of collectors.
Beta Edition Cards
- After five months of release of the Alpha editions, in October the team released the second editions which is known as the Beta Edition or Beta cards. We can also says the Expansion Era also. The number of Beta Packs were large as compare to the Alpha packs, nearly 1 million total packs were sold and the Beta Edition was containing the all same summoner and monster cards as were available in Alpha Edition and in addition a new Splinter - Neutral Splinter was introduced. The new Epic and Legendary summoners were also introduced first time in game. Selling approximately a million packs was a massive milestone achieved by the project and it proven strong support of the community and team also able to show that they are still strong in the crypto market.
The Beta Edition can be sub divided inti four parts - Beta Core, Beta Promo, Beta Reward, and Essence Orb.

Beta Core set was consists of 79 cards. In addition to the 59 cards (same as Alpha cards).

Neutral Cards
20 more cards were added, 10 cards were form newly added splinter i.e Neutral Splinter, five Epic Summoner were also added and five Legendary Summoners were airdropped to the eligible players based on the pack purchase.
Beta Promo Cards - Their are 6 cards in Beta Promo sub-set.
4 of these came from the SeedGerminator promotion, in which Splinterlands expanded the DEC token to function on the TRX chain, and are pictured below:

Four Beta Promo Cards
At that time I was also become the part of community and started my Splinterlands journey. This was the time so many things were going on and I remember the Mystery Potion which players purchase and try their luck, I also purchased some but not got so luck to get the Legendary summoner.

Two Beta Promo Cards
Two Beta Promo cards were available through the Mystery Potion (the option is no longer available now). Both the promo cards were Legendary Summoners and total of 100 copies (including the regular and gold foil version) of each were minted though the Mystery potion by the players purchased the potion.
I guess the post will become too long if I will added other edition also in same post, so lets take a break and I will share the other Editions in next posts.

Following three Legendary Cards (form Neutral, Death and Water splinter) pulled form previous season loot chests. Kulu Matermind looks awesome and Drybone Raider looks dangerous. Waiting for Gold Foil Legendary.

Rental Earnings
Rental earning are not good as most of the cards has been moved to lands. This season the rental is almost zero. Card are more productive on lands in my opinion.

In last season earned56 DEC token as Rental Income using the Splex.gg.
