[ES/EN] Flores en mi camino al trabajo: Entrada al phone photography contest #70/Flowers in my way to work:entry to the phone photography cotest #70

Hola #hivers

Hello #hivers

Here we are, in a new #phonography contest.

In case you don't know, I am fortunate to work at an institution that houses a protected natural area. I'm referring to the Pedregal de San Ángel Ecological Reserve (REPSA acronyms in spanish). This is a site with a very changeable natural dynamic, governed by rainfall. It is composed of scrub vegetation that grows on volcanic rock, which means that the soil retains little moisture, so when rainfall is scarce, the scrub dries out.

But when the rainy season begins, there is an explosion of incredibly diverse and joyful colors and shapes. An explosion that I am lucky enough to enjoy every day on my way to work and that I have been able to capture with my cell phone on several occasions over the last few years so that I can treasure it and share it with you.

Unfortunatelly, it is also the season in which so called "gardeners" are hired to eliminate most of the naturally growing plants in the on campus green spaces.

But even so, the tenacity of these plants is unmatched, and they manage to cover large areas, not only providing color and beauty, but also food for various species.

And there are always those who take advantage of this situation to prey on unsuspecting visitors.

The diversity of flowers is particularly striking.

During the rainy season (right now), the rocky terrain is bursting with life, and it is a great pleasure to enjoy and share it.

See you in our next post!

wow, what a lovely sight to enjoy.. If you are a nature lover, you would really enjoy this place.. such a magical beauty.. I don't like caterpillars, they creep me out but you've captured it beautifully.. and the flowers,, stunning.. my favorites are the yellow orange one and the last photo,, the one that looks like a spider 😁..

It is a beautiful place, very impressive. Sorry about caterpillars, they are one of the several misunderstood animals out there. That last one flower is very rare indeed. Yet is pretty common here where I work. Glad you liked my post. Come by anytime.

Only a nature lover can say such a thing. I liked all these flowers very much, and you have taken very beautiful pictures of some of them.

Y´r right, I love it so much that I have decided to dedicate my life to study it. I´m currently pursuing my PhD degree in Biological Sciences. So yes I am a nature lover. And the pictures are mostly for pleasure!
thanks for your comment and support!

It must be wonderful to work in a reserve, especially if you're passionate about nature.

What beautiful photographs you've taken! The final one is truly gorgeous.

Beautiful photographs, @gornat

Thank you, it is very beautiful, however, I'm not part of the reserve staff, I'm just a post grad student in the University that among many other things administrated the reserve.
Very glad you liked the images. Come by to my profile sometimes and find some other nature wonder I've the opportunity to capture with my phone.

Thank you for your support. Hope you enjoyed the post
