La foto de hoy para mi #JuevesDeTBT me la tomé en octubre de 2019 y como todos saben, me encanta tomarme selfies, pero en esta ocasión me la tomé para preservar el día que me dieron un regalo de cumpleaños atrasado.
En aquel entonces trabajaba con un amigo en una especie de papelería en la que se sacaban copias, se hacían trabajos digitales, escaneos de fotos, diseño de imágenes para imprimir, recarga de tóner, y muchas otras cosas.
El trabajo sonaba sencillo, pero a medida que avanzaban los meses se hacía más intenso no por lo que hacía sino por las horas extras que tenía que sacrificar para atender a un cliente y mantenerlo feliz mientras que a mí no me remuneraban nada.
Además, la carga de responsabilidad fue aumentando conforme pasaban los días y la paga seguía siendo mínima. Tenía poco tiempo para almorzar y como vivo lejos, era más fácil quedarme en esa tienda durante más de 8 horas diarias.
Al final me cansé y decidí renunciar. Fue una de las mejores decisiones que tomé ya que no estaba del todo feliz allí ni era apreciada por todo lo que hacía. Y este día que me tomé la foto, una de las amigas de mi mamá me visitó en la tienda para darme mi regalo de cumpleaños atrasado.
Este detalle hizo que mi día en el trabajo mejorara enormemente. Me encantó que se acordaran de mi y que me hicieran sentir importante. A veces un simple detalle como darte los buenos días, un abrazo o ser amable teniendo un detalle sin esperar nada a cambio, te cambian los días de un cielo oscuro a uno con sol brillante.

Today's #ThrowbackThursday photo was taken in October 2019, and as you all know, I love taking selfies, but this time I took it to preserve the memory of the day I received a belated birthday present.
Back then, I worked with a friend at a kind of stationery shop where we made copies, did digital work, scanned photos, designed images for printing, refilled toner, and many other things.
The job sounded simple, but as the months went by, it became more intense, not because of the work itself, but because of the extra hours I had to sacrifice to serve a customer and keep them happy, while I wasn't paid anything.
Furthermore, the workload increased as the days passed, and the pay remained minimal. I had little time for lunch, and since I live far away, it was easier to stay at that shop for more than eight hours a day.
Eventually, I got fed up and decided to quit. It was one of the best decisions I ever made, since I wasn't entirely happy there and wasn't appreciated for all my work. And on the day I took the picture, one of my mom's friends visited me at the store to give me my belated birthday present.
This gesture made my day at work so much better. I loved that they remembered me and made me feel important. Sometimes, a simple gesture like saying good morning, a hug, or being kind by doing something thoughtful without expecting anything in return can turn a dark day into a bright, sunny one.
