Recuerdo unos pasillos bulliciosos de gente, cada fin de semana Plaza Mayor de la ciudad de Lechería se recargaba en sus diferentes espacios de muchísimas tiendas. Allí podrían encontrar de todo, bancos, automercados, cine, áreas de comidas, perfumes, librerías, peluquerías, tiendas de ropa, zapatería, panadería y una gigantesca farmacia llamada Locatel. De verdad describir todo lo que podías encontrar entre sus locales me quedaría corta. Recuerdo las últimas tiendas de discos en físico.
Ya no te hacia falta irte al paseo Colón en la ciudad de Puerto La Cruz para cruzarte con personas que conocías de toda la vida, allí las iba a encontrar comiéndose un helado. Yo cada vez que podía me encantaba su sushi su preparación era bastante rápida y casi a la vista. La última vez que me acerque al área de comidas estaba cerrada ya no quedaba nada activo. De verdad me encantaría su regreso y activación.

I remember bustling corridors; every weekend, Plaza Mayor in Lechería would be packed with countless shops. You could find everything there: banks, supermarkets, a movie theater, food courts, perfume shops, bookstores, hair salons, clothing stores, shoe stores, a bakery, and a gigantic pharmacy called Locatel. Honestly, describing everything you could find among its shops would fall short. I remember the last record stores that carried physical copies.
You no longer needed to go to Paseo Colón in Puerto La Cruz to run into people you'd known your whole life; you'd find them there, enjoying an ice cream. Whenever I could, I loved their sushi; it was prepared quite quickly and almost right before your eyes. The last time I went to the food court, it was closed; nothing was open anymore. I would truly love to see it reopen.
Acaban de anunciar la construcción de un centro comercial Sambil para la ciudad de Lechería, eso significa mucha mano de obra en su construcción y nuevas tiendas, seguramente se convertirá en el nuevo lugar de moda. They just announced the construction of a Sambil shopping mall in the city of Lechería. That means a lot of construction work and new stores; it will surely become the new trendy spot. Everyone will go there to see what's new. New stores and spaces—I think it could be a new business opportunity for many.
If the oil boom returns, there will be many opportunities and new jobs. Many Venezuelans will return, looking for work in their homeland again. We just have to wait and see if all these changes continue.
