I forgot to post this last night.
Yesterday started with a little play time with Hawthorne and a cup of coffee. Then I checked the oil in my mom's car. Since we didn't have any oil on hand, I ran up to the dollar store to buy a quart. Then I put it in for her.
I ate breakfast and started working. An hour in and my mom texted me to let me know the electric was out and to check on dad (she had just left to attend a.funeral). When I finished the job I was on, I walked over and checked on dad. He was bundled up in a blanket with the electric heater on.
When I left to come home, I saw some dead tree limbs I had cut off a willow tree last week blowing across the yard. I picked them up and stacked them where they wouldn't blow around. Then I noticed the metal roof on our lawn mower shed flapping in the wind. I grabbed a ladder and tried to pin it down with something heavy, but the wind was too strong. I decided to leave it for another day.
I went back home and the wind blew the lid off our metal trash can. I retrieved it from the pasture and secured it with a brick and a metal wire, which I tied to my fence.
After that, a baby gate fastened to my front porch to keep my dog in the yard blew off, so I took the time to fix that and went back to work.
In the afternoon, I ate dinner and fed Hawthorne, then washed dishes. Mom texted to say a rabbit was caught in our front fence, so I went out with a bucket and a pair of gloves to get it out.

Poor thing. He got his leg hung up and couldn't get out.
I then played with Hawthorne and took him for a little walk. I ended the day with more than 5,000 activity points
