Hello good people and warm welcome to my Actifit Report for today being Friday the 10/10/2025. Thank God it's Friday!!! The international break continues as nations teams play in their various confederations to qualify for the next FIFA World Cup in 2026 co-hosted by three countries of the Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America.
Nigeria plays in group C under CAF and their chances to make it to the said world cup look very critical. They played away to Lesotho and managed to win (2-1) to garner 14 points. It is also the same with Benin Republic who also beat Rwanda (1-0) away to have 14pts too. South Africa played out a goalless draw with Zimbabwe to get 15pts.
Now the calculators are out and serious permutations have started too.
With only one match remaining for all the teams Benin Republic, South Africa, and Nigeria all remain in contention for Group C sole automatic qualification spot.
Now here's how the permutations stand:
For Benin Republic:
Benin Republic will qualify for the World Cup if they defeat Nigeria.
Benin Republic could also qualify with a draw against Nigeria, but only if South Africa fail to win against Rwanda.
For South Africa:
South Africa will pick the group's automatic sole ticket if they defeat Rwanda and Benin Republic lose to Nigeria.
For Nigeria:
Third on the log - Nigeria can still qualify but for this to happen they must beat Benin Republic and hope South Africa fail to win against Rwanda.
In addition, the Super Eagles must win by three or more goals to overtake the other two nations above on goal difference.
So who has the hardest route to qualification? I fear for Nigeria really.
